If you buy an Official Scrabble Players Dictionary from the bookstore (or if you ask your sister to buy you one for your birthday last November), it will not contain the word “fart”. If you go to an official Scrabble tournament and hang a T on somebody’s “FAR”, you will not get challenged for using an invalid word, however, because tournament Scrabble is played with the dirty version of the dictionary.
