Scrabble Facts, part 1 was on words you can’t make because there aren’t enough Z’s or K’s or S’s. Scrabble Facts, part 2 was going to be on all the words that are larger than 8 and cannot be played because you can’t form them by adding seven or fewer letters to a smaller word (which itself needs to be constructed from a smaller word if it’s greater than 8 letters). For instance, the 15-letter oxyphenbutazone has the tiles to score 41 points, but butazone is not a word, and you don’t have enough letters to add oxyphenbuta to if zone is on the board. Part 2 ended up being too hard, so here is the third installment.
Also, if a word has more than one Z or K, you only get points for the first one since you’ll need to use your blanks. For instance, quizzicalities is only worth 34 points, rather that 44.
Anyways, I switched over to the more traditional Scrabble dictionary TWL. If anyone wants the SOWPODS results, please let me know. Although the words in here are supposed to be a little more legitimate, Google Docs still needed to underline everything
